Now, fans are wondering if the show has been renewed. Will we see more of Monte and Laura? And what kinds of miracle prom dresses could they possibly pull out of the shop moving forward? Here’s the inside scoop:

Saying ‘Yes’ In A Pandemic
The answer to the first question is a resounding: ‘yes!’ Fans will be thrilled to know that Say Yes To The Prom has indeed been renewed for a ninth season. As far as we can tell from the official show page, both Monte and Laura will be back to transform the looks- and the lives- of some of America’s luckiest girls. Amazing! There is, however, some bad news.
Thanks to reasons we are all aware of (*cough* COVID-19 and all of its destruction), 2020 high school proms were few and far between. With social distancing measures in place, most schools decided to cancel both their dances and their graduations. Projections for prom 2021 are not looking much better, due to the recent spike in coronavirus cases globally. So what does this mean for one of our favorite shows?

Looking Forward To The Future
TLC can choose to address the issue in a number of ways. It could follow in the footsteps of countless other television programs and delay season nine for another year. Alternatively, the show could air ‘where are they now episodes.’ Here, the idea would be to get in touch with some of the young women who have been featured on the reality show. Viewers could find out how well the contestants managed to integrate their prom experience with the rest of their lives. We could also find out how these women have been doing in their newly adult lives.
Unfortunately, however, the network has yet to announce their plans. In the meantime, we can await the results watching reruns.

You, Too, Can Say ‘Yes’
